Title Springdale Winery

Description These photos from the site visit represent the three aspects of sustainability that were used to guide the entire project design. Ecological concerns about maintaining and improving the riparian zone around the Virgin River resulted in a conservative site layout that protected the river and kept any building or hardscape immediately adjacent to existing roads. Social responsibility also called for the maintenance of the Zion Canyon landscape for all of the tourist visitors to the area. Economic factors also suggested that the business of the winery and the town structure itself would be best served by buildings placed close to the street in order to maintain a strong town streetscape retail presence.
