Title Embodying tourism and performance: a new look at landscape
Date 2008-08
Description This research examines the interrelationship between tourism, nature, and performance. I explore the questions: How do tourists, like dancers, perform their roles and what are the tools they use for this performance? How does an awareness of the body provide a consciousness of the spaces where we live? I assert that we must re-evaluate our methodology to more fully understand tourist phenomenology, as one not solely based on consumerism, but instead as one based on a "new" tourism that employs body awareness.
