Creator Friedman, Deborah I; Ingram, Pamela; Rogers, Mary AM
Subject Low Tyramine Diet; Pseudotumor Cerebri; Cerebrospinal Fluid Homeostasis; Chroid Plexus
Description Although the pathophysiology of pseudotumor cerebri (PTC) is unknown, it is characterized by a disturbance of cerebrospinal fluid homeostasis. Studies in animals have shown that cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) production by the choroid plexus decreases by 35-50% with the administration of norepinephrine or seratonin.
