Subject Clinical Antisaccade Test; Central Nervous System Function; Neurologic Disorders; Psychiatric Disorders; Antisaccades
Description The ability to generate antisaccades has been used to assess central nervous system function in a variety of neurologic and psychiatric disorders. However, the usefulness of this paradigm in clinical practice is limited by the need for an oculography laboratory. We describe a clinical version of the antisaccadic task and present normative data from 332 adult subjects and 98 children. We also examined clinical antisaccades in 30 patients with Alzheimer's disease, 5 patients with Huntington's disease, 12 patients with pseudodementia, 110 patients with HIV infection and 50 patients with schizophrenia or other psychoses.
