Description Pantothenate Kinase-Associated Neurodegeneration (PKAN) is a rare autosomal recessive degenerate extrapyramidal motor disorder with a spectrum of neurologic abnormalicies and progressive dementia. Few published studies have reported pigmentary retinopathy, optic atrophy, neuro-ophthalmic motility disorders and e1ectrorecinographic (ERG) abnormalicies. No study to date has examined e1ectro-oculographic (EOG) and visual evoked potencial (YEP) deficiencies correlacing to pigmentary recinopathy and optic atrophy with genetically confirmed mutacions in the PANK2 gene.
