Description Skew deviation is a vertical strabismus caused by supranuclear or peripheral vestibular lesions. It has been attributed to imbalance of the vestibulo-ocular reflex projections from the utricles to ocular motoneurons. The utricles normally detect static positions (tilts) of the head.
